The Merry Cat, is a husband and wife team. My husband (Alex) is the navigator, trail blazer, salesman half, and me (Mary), I'm the artist, photographer, computer tech half of the business. I am a self-taught Artist, and photographer. The Merry Cat was formed around 2000, but it wasn't until a few years later that I started pursuing a career in professional photography. I did it not because I thought it would be a good business to get into, but instead I did it because I am passionately in love with photography and can't imagine my life without a camera. I tend to capture the images that I see with my emotions rather then with my sight. This can bring a surreal quality to my work. The subject matter that I shoot is very eclectic and fluid, and though naturescapes is my first love I also like to shoot personal, and photojournalistic events. My artwork can be found in homes and businesses throughout the world, many of those prints were skillfully framed and matted by Alex. I do know there are a lot of fly-by-night businesses out there on the Internet, that is why I became a member of the Better Business Bureau, as an Accredited Business.
