Great Falls
McLean, VA

Great Falls, is created by the Potomac River as it speed through the narrow Mather Gorge. Located within the park is the Patowmack Canal, it was a part of George Washington's plan to make the Potomac River navigable all the way to the Ohio River Valley. Most of Great Falls, 800 acres is forested, and is filled with a variety of wildlife, and plants.
